A novel patented gloss meter with reduced cross-sectional dimensions for the output sensor facilitates measurements of both mirror and diffuse components directly on articles with surface illumination angles of 20, 45, 60, 70 and 80 degrees. Gloss factor measurements on a variety of coloured glass surfaces are reported.
