In an IS glass machine, the gob delivery system consists of three major components that are used to transport the gob from where it is cut to its final destination in the blank moulds. Transporting the gob from the shears to the blank moulds can be a difficult process leading to a variety of issues affecting the final bottle quality. This paper describes a newly developed system to monitor the gob as it travels through the delivery system, helping to give insight into what causes problems and where they occur.
