The recycling of glass cullet in the production process helps significantly to economize on raw materials. This article looks at the operational experience of the Kalinin Glass Plant, who produce fine-walled blown beakers and wine glasses on mechanized lines using a concentration of glass cullet in the batch of as much as 70%, instead of the 25-30% recommended by the Tungsram Company supplying the equipment.
