The Changing Face Of Murano Glass

On the small island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon, the long and proud tradition of glassmaking continues to this day. Marketing needs and economic conditions are, however, chaging thus leaving glassmasters to grapple with a different working environment. This article gives an overview of these changes in the 1990s and considers ways in which the Muranese glass inudstry may move foreward.
