Chamber For The Manufacture Of Float Glass With A Graphite Liner Of Varied Thickness

The bottom of a chamber used in the float glass process is composed of a refractory material material with a liner of carbonaceous material over it. The liner ranges in thickness to a thick portion near the side walls of the chamber to a thick portion near the side walls of the chamber, this arrangement promoting heat uniformity across the width of the molten metal bath resting on it.
