Ceramics As Material For Moulding Glass - A New Material For The Glass Industry (German)

Glass moulds made from an aluminium titanate ceramic have been in plant use for 3 years with excellent results. Such moulds can be formed by slip casting, throwing, and pressing followed by firing. They offer the possibility of significant improvement of the surface quality of blown glassware and can be used to advantage in situations where wood is not durable or metal moulds are too expensive.
