Ceramic Kilns With Improved Environmental Protection

Modern materials have made a decisive contribution to energy saving during firing processes. This paper surveys the different types of kiln linings currently available. The contaminants - in particular fluorine and hydrocarbons - can be neutralized with dry sorption plants and purpose-built post-combustion systems. These systems are also presented.
