Clean Air legislation for motorcycles and scooters is spreading rapidly in South East Asian countries due to health hazards associated with large amounts of HC and CO emissions, notably from two-stroke engines fueled by gas/oil mixture. In view of high exhaust temperature due to exothermic oxidation of HC and CO emissions, cellular ceramic catalyst supports are ideal for this application.
