Campaign To Cut Consumers' Carbon Footprint

Eight large UK firms (Tesco; BSkyB; M&S; Royal & Sun Alliance; B&Q; Barclaycard; British Gas & O2) have joined forces to offer the British shopper easier access to products, services and advice that will make it easier to cut domestic emissions of carbon dioxide. The "We're in this together" campaign, co-ordinated by The Climate Group, aims to reduce emissions from UK households by 10% (25M/tonnes) over a period of 3y. The launch of the campaign was attended by Prime Minister Tony Blair and his Environmental Secretary David Miliband, who endorsed it for complementing the government's own efforts to tackle climate change.
