Enzo Urbani, CEO of Italian crystal products maker Cristalleria Artistica La Piana SpA (CALP), has presented a new development plan to relaunch the firm's activities and conquer new markets. CALP, based in Colle Val d'Elsa, northern Italy, is emerging from a difficult period: the firm forecasts a loss of US$ 9.5M for 2006 and a consolidated turnover of US$ 63.5M. In 2007, losses are expected to fall and turnover to rise. The company expects to break even in 2008. CALP's management pledged that there would be no job cuts or production transfers. New commercial strategies for the brands RCR (Royal Cristal Roc) and Da Vinci Crystal have been presented, along with plans for the launch of new products, such as the Free Life crystal interior design range.
