Caithness Glass Saved By Takeover

It was reported October 2006 that Caithness Glass' site in Perth has been saved after a takeover deal was finalised with Dartington Crystal. The future of the firm had been in the balance since August 2006 when it went into receivership and 12 staff were laid off soon after administrators, Deloitte were called in. Dartington Crystal announced it had bought the firm for an undisclosed sum and would retain all 45 of Caithness' existing staff. The company intends to carry on trading under its current brand name.
