Bubble Simulations For Electrochemical Reactions

This study is part of a project planned to understand the electrochemical mechanism producing oxygen reboil in boosted or all-electric glass melting. The effect of different frequencies and current density have been investigated by a series of laboratory simulation studies. In particular, the time required by the bubbles to occupy ~1cm2 glass melt area around the electrode was traced in the simulations. The information obtained from the systematic bubble analyses and theoretical knowledge of electrochemcial mechanism were well supported by simulation results, and thisit was possible to make reasonable predictions on the application of electric melting.
