Bubble Simulations For Electrochemical Reactions

The diagnosis and elimination of bubble defects, which are one of the most common faults affecting the glass quality, are still topics of interest to the glass industry. Therefore, various experiments on bubble formation and bubble modelling have been developed to understand and solve the problem. This study is part of a project planned to understand the electrochemical mechanism producing oxygen reboil in boosted or all-electric glass melting. The effect of different frequencies and current density have been investigated by a series of laboratory simulation studies. In particular the time required by the bubbles to occupy ~ 1 cm2 glass melt area around the electrode was traced in the simulations.
