British Glass: Consumers Prefer Glass For Food And Drink, Says Survey

UK consumers say they prefer food and drink to be packaged in glass bottles & jars according to new research from British Glass. The survey of 1,000 adults reveals that an overwhelming 74% of consumers feel that glass is the most natural form of packaging. 69% of consumers associate glass with quality, believing quality products are packaged in glass & 66% believe food & drink tastes better out of glass. An impressive 88% also prefer to see glass bottles on the table rather than plastic. "These figures demonstrate a clear consumer preference for glass bottles & jars," said Andrew Hartley director of strategy & communications at British Glass. "As well as preferring the natural benefits of glass, the majority of consumers also believe that glass is high quality, provides the best possible tasting food or drinks & adds to the value of what's inside the bottle or jar."
