After the second World War, British glass was produced in vast quantitites and exported to many countries around the world, but very little has been written about the manufacturers at that time. This article nicely fills the gap. It lists all the British glass manufacturers in the years 1947 and 1948, together with their trade marks, trading names, the type of product made and in some cases their original advertisements from those post-war years - an interesting example being the manufacture of "Crystolac" toughened glass tumblers. The article is produced by Angela Bowey of the Glass Museum Online and, subject to copyright, available on the web-site number listed above.
