1930 Dessaux sold the factory to the perfumer COTY who set up the company as known Verrier Chapella St Mesmin; 1934, company had been taken over by St Gobain & name changed to "Beauce Bourgogne" & began to make tempered glassware in La Chapelle Saint-Mesmin Factory; 1939 Duralex introduced a tempering & pressing process specially developed by St.Gobain, providing excellent transparency & impact resistance; 1996 Rive De Gier Factory & La Chapelle Factory by St Gobain sold to Bormiolli Rocco group with SG's other 3 tableware factories in Germany & Spain. Company name changed to Verrerie de la Chapella, who merged in 2001 with Verrerie de Rive de Gier, new firm called Bormioli Rocco. 2004, 2 factories in La Chapelle & Rive de Gier sold in Nov 2004 to Duralex International. In 2005, all shares acquired by Solmaz after bankruptcy. One site remaining at La Chapelle, Duralex.
