Vidroporto is one of Brazil's homegrown glass container producers. The company was founded in 1977 and since then has produced glass bottles from 275ml up to 1000ml. Today, the company has two furnaces with two production lines each, providing jobs for some 320 people. Its main markets are alcohol, beers, wines and food, covering the domestic market. Vidroporto's furnaces produce 255/tpd. Glass packaging growth in Brazil is expected to be 4-5%/pa for the next few years. The company works with up to 70% cullet in the batch and in 2013 the company installed the most modern cullet recycling plant in Brazil.
