Borate Based Glass Ceramic Materials For High Temperature Coatings And Seals

In the glass forming system MgO-BaO-B2O3-SiO2 glass ceramic material is elaborated for coatings and seals. The rheological properties and crystallisation ability of glass were studied. The time temperature schedule of formation of coatings and seals is determined from these properties. Data on the thermal expansion of the material in glassy and glassy crystalline states are given and compared with that of sealed materials. Data on volume resistivity of the glass and glass ceramic over a wide temperature range are also presented. The possibilities of the studied material practical use are considered.
