Bor Glassworks Achieves Ford Certification

Russian Ford supplier Bor Glass Works has achieved Q1 certification, becoming one of the first two Russian firms to obtain the automaker's top quality certification award. "We are extremely pleased Bor Glass Works and DSK have taken the rigorous steps necessary to become Q1 suppliers", said Ford of Europe president and CEO John Fleming. "Meeting Q1 criteria is important to both Ford and our suppliers because it means customers will receive vehicles built to consistent, high quality standards. This is crucial to our plans for meeting the demands of Russia's fast-growing automobile market".Bor Glass Work and DSK supply parts for the Ford Focus built in St. Petersburg. Bor Glass Works, based in Nizhny Novgorod, produces flat glass for side windows and windscreens. Suppliers must meet several stringent criteria to obtain the globally recognised Q1 certification, including International Organization of Standardisation (ISO) certification; proper implementation of quality operating and management systems, as well as environmental management systems; and customer endorsements.
