Blast Furnace Slag In Glassmaking: Origin Of The Material, Treatment And Specifications

VITRITE F (for container glass) and VITRITE VP (for float glass) are raw materials used regularly in the batches for clear or coloured glasses. They are obtained through the rigorously controlled processing of blast furnace slags. Besides being a relatively cheap source of alumina, the presence of sulphides, homogeneously distributed in the mass, provides the ideal conditions for the refining of the glass melt.
