Biodegradable Beer Cups Make Debut

A live event has seen the first application of biodegradable beer cups produced under RPC Tedeco-Gizeh's "NatureWorks@RPC" initiative. The "NatureWorks@RPC" cups are manufactured from PLA, the maize-based polymer that degrades in industrial compost facilities, under a joint branding venture between RPC and Cargill Dow. They are said to be ideal for a range of cold (up to 45ÂșC) food and beverage applications, a characteristic recognised by the Grolsch brewery, which was responsible for all beer supplies at a live event in Amsterdam on the country's Queen's Day holiday.
