Cellular honeycomb ceramics have been used in a variety of applications, including support materials for catalytic co version, adsorptive separations, membrane supports, cross-flow filtration and fluid filtration. The honeycomb design offers a remarkably high geometric surface area per unit volume and improves the chemical residence times for reactions to reach completion in high-flow conditions. Extrusion is a well-understood and highly scalable ceramic forming process, and extruded cellular honeycomb monoliths provide unmatched structural rigidity and robustness.
