Beryllium Fluoride Glasses Of Extremely Low Refraction.

The properties inhibiting fluoride glasses from being used optically, namely low chemical durability and tendency to devitrify, could be compensated to some extent by stabilizers such as LaF3, CeF3 ThF4 and oxide clouding could be prevented by addition of free HF, preferably as KHF2.
