Belgium's glass container mould maker BMT Group, recently announced that it intends to set up a JV with HNG, the largest glass manufacturer in India. BMT operates glass mould business through Omco Int & has glass mould shops in several EU countries. Mukul Somany, joint MD of HNG, confirmed the venture saying: "We have had a few meetings & things are progressing well. Currently, we have 4 plants making glass moulds." Jean-Christophe Seynaeve, director of BMT & MD/CEO of Omco said: "The glass market in India is expanding, & delivering moulds to it would work very well. Shape of bottles & getting the right container in place is hugely important now that big brands are being marketed in India. We are in talks with HNG to set up a glass mould shop in India. This will be a 50/50 joint venture & we are working on the various nuances of the venture at present.
