Beer Tankards From Edinburgh Crystal

Edinburgh Crystal produces an unusual and very distinctive variation of the British tankard. The "Tay Pint Tankard" is decorated with elaborate cut glass designs, as are the "Barrel Tankard" and "Slim Tankard" that form part of the company's Thomas Webb brand. Edinburgh Crystal also makes thistle goblets, the most unique of all Scottish glasses and an appropriate vessel for the Scottish ales that are popular in Belgium (and are often hard to find in the UK). Edinburgh Crystal was founded in 1867, but the company originated in the 17th century when Venetian artisans first brought their techniques to the Scottish capital.
