Beer - 5000 Years Of Good Cheer!

Beer has recently become very ordinary, and very male. But for most of its history, beer was regarded with religious awe, and it was made by women. They included goddesses, witches and nuns like Saint Bridget, who miraculously converted her bath-water into beer for thirsty lepers and prayed, "I would like a great lake of beer for the King of Kings. I would like to watch Heaven's family drinking it through all eternity." Little of their spirit remains, but women like this set an important example for today's drinkers. Beer has a lot to offer. As Benjamin Franklin put it, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
