Beatson Clark: New Robot Speeds Up Cold End Process

Beatson Clark has invested over £200,000 to improve the speed & versatility of its packing line. The Rotherham-based company has installed a 'robotic pack palletiser' from Japan's Fanuk to service two amber glass lines. The lines produce more than 80 different glass containers, each with its own packing requirements. The robot can palletise 16 pre-formed, film-wrapped packs a minute. "The new robot will significantly speed up the palletisation process & also improve the quality of the packs", said projects manager Colin Rimmer. "It is operated with a touchscreen information panel and servo controls for accurate speed and positional control". The new robot is the latest in a continuing investment programme. Sales and marketing director Lynn Sidebottom said: "This new equipment will allow us to deliver improved efficiency".
