Batch And Raw Material Preheating And Integrated Waste Heat Recovery

During the last twenty years the specific energy consumption of modern glass melting furnaces has been reduced dramatically by about 50% or more. This paper looks at the effects of batch preheating on cross fired furnaces and end fired furnaces. It also reports on energy savings and pull rates from both types of furnaces.
