Bangladesh Solar - A Force To Be Reckoned With?

With a steady rise in the use of solar power, Bangladesh is now under pressure to adopt an affective renewable power policy and introduce Feed-in-Tariff. Due to power shortage, many of the high segment homes, commercial buildings and factories have installed rooftop solar power plants under pressure from the government, but they found their plants remain unutilised, due to the government's indecision in buying excess power by connecting with the national power grid of Bangladesh Power Development Board. This article examines how the evolving solar industry of Bangladesh could be poised to become a major energy supplier in the next few years.
