Back-Up Fuel Systems To Meet All Furnace Requirements

This article is the third instalment of a series of articles on control system designs for glass furnaces. The first paper in October 2008 focused on regenerative gas and oxy-gas control systems. The second part in June 2009 focused on air fuel recuperative furnaces firing gas and heavy oil for regenerative, recuperative and oxy applications. This final paper reviews presently available back-up fuel systems, including diesel and LPG.
