Axial Heat Conduction Effects In The Cooling Of Optical Fibres

A thermal analysis of the cooling stage of thin and medium diameter glass fibres has been performed mathematically. Results of a parametric study to examine the effects of diameter and drawing speed on the temperature distribution are presented.
