Award Winning Glass Design

Tomorrow's automotive designers have come up with some innovative glass applications - including a vehicle inspired by the London Eye ferris wheel - as part of a competition sponsored by PPG Industries. Winning designs by students of Detroit's College for Creative Arts show how glass can add utility and enhance the overall design for a vehicle based on the Honda Element. S Maeda, from Japan, won first place and a $1500 scholarship with a design for an electric sports car, featuring a nearly all-glass top inspired by London's landmark observation wheel, providing a panoramic view for passengers.
