Automated Drinking Glass Inspection

Optische Prufsysteme Dr Gunther has introduced its new solutions for the automatic inspection of drinking glasses. The new inspection system uses several cameras to check the glasses automatically, contact-free and in real-time on the production line. For mouth inspection a high resolution camera searches for faults along the rim and checks the planity. The body of the glass is inspected for embedded faults, cracks and deformations, and the stem and its join with he glass bowl are inspected for blisters and deformations. Any axis deviation can be determined for the stem and the body, and measurements are carried out for diameter, deformation and height. Additionally, the rim of the base plates can be checked for cracks, embedded faults and dents.
