Auto Glass Recycling

In this article the author discusses the effect on glass recycling of the new End of Life Vehicle Directive, reviewing the various ELV requirements and targets; namely, substitution of heavy metals in car components, the obligation to remove components from ELVs and the ambitious recovery and recycling targets. The paper discusses how the glass industry is affected as a market partner. National legislation and examples of recycling routes established in Europe are described.
