The production of smaller article quantities has always been an issue for the container glass industry, with the IS machine having to be completely stopped and reconfigured. In addition, the whole production run would have to be turned over to the other article, meaning production efficiency suffers due to machine downtime. In this article, the authors highlight the problems associated with manufacturing small glass articles and introduce an assortment of production solutions.
