[Armenia] Glass World Company Begins Production

Following final adjustments to equipment at the "Glass World Company" plant in the Kotayk region, volume output was scheduled to start on 26 May 2006, according to Katren Chshmarityan, Armenia's Minister of Trade and Economic Development. The minister said that at present the plant produces 0.5 litre bottles for the mineral water "Jermuk" and 314g and 720g glass containers for fruit and vegetables. UK investors acquired OJSC "Armcrystal" in June 2004 and set up a new glassware plant, "Glass World Company", on the site. The opening of the plant was originally scheduled to take place in 2005. However, it was postponed until May 2006 due to the need for additional work and investments.
