In January, UK PM David Cameron made a forthright speech in Brussels about his thoughts on the functioning of the EU. In Europe the glass industry has, and still is suffering - not only because of the economic meltdown and low market volume, but due to excessive levies to the EU, the equivalent of more than 10 years profit - much of which was made in times before the economic crisis. This resulted in the glass industry closing 10 glass plants in Europe over the last few years. This article looks at how Europe is handling the glass industry.
