Ardagh Glass Has Good First Half

Ardagh Glass Ltd, the international glass concern of Ardagh plc., has returned strong first six month period results for this year with operating profit increasing to Euro 20.7M from Euro 12.7M reported for the first half in 2002. Turnover for the period reached Euro 208M (127.4), not including the acquired Abruzzo Vetro in Italy and the Heye Group in Germany. Net profit for the six months ending 30 June was Euro 7.4M (2.2M). Ardagh Glass has become one of the major glass container producers in Europe with Rockware Glass in the UK (4 plants), Heye Glass in Germany (2 plants) and Abruzzo Vetro in Italy (1 plant).
