Arc Int Group of France has concluded the partial sale of the activities of the Salviati brand to JL Coquet-Jaune de Chrome & designer Pierre Rohatyn. The transfer includes the Murano workshop, Italy. Salviati, founded in 1859, is among the most prestigious Murano glass brands & comprises two main activities, decoration & jewellery. The group announced June/07 that Salviati was up for sale. Also, new shareholders will re-position the jewellery activity in the luxury market by overhauling the collection & setting up a selective distribution network. The group has now begun the active transfer of its shops. P Gournay, CEO of Arc said: "We are confident that the buyers will put in place the means to ensure the future of the Salviati brand. We will pay special attention to the employees concerned by these decisions & will support them during the transition period while respecting the social practices of the Group and the regulations in force in each country. These measures demonstrate the clear determination of the Group to refocus on its core business and reach its profitability objective". Arc International employs 16,500 people worldwide. The group, whose head office is located at Arques, in the French Pas-de-Calais region, achieved a turnover of EUR 1.4 billion in 2006. It markets tableware products in more than 160 countries, notably under the Luminarcr, Mikasar, Cristal d'Arquesr Paris, Arcorocr, Pyrexr, and Studio Novar brands.
