Applied Research, Development And Services For The Optimization Of Natural Gas Utilization In The Field Of Glass Melting Furnaces

For many years, Gas de France has developed and promoted, in collaboration with manufacturers and users, efficient industrial solutions using natural gas. The glass industry is one of the sectors which Gaz has developed a large number of investigative resources, both experimental and numerical. This article presents the experience acquired by Gaz for over 15 years. It is illustrated by industrial collaborations, whose findings are: reduction of pollutant emissions, and improvement in energy efficiency of installations. This paper looks at various ways of combustion; air-natural gas, natural gas-oxygen, fuel oil-natural gas, flameless oxidation: a new combustion technique.
