Applications Of Separating Powder To Windscreens Before Bending

The production of windscreens requires an especially homogenous surface covering for secure separation during the bending process. Powder agglomerations can cause failures (lenses), but a shortage of powder will cause an agglutination of the two glass sheets during bending. Users of the IfG application system confirm a reduction of bending failures up to 50%. The powder distributor from the sprayer is achieved using 12 nozzles, 10 of the mounted at a fixed distance and the other 2 are available to be positioned over the total width by a clamping device. This design allows an increase of powder quantity on critical areas with very small bending radii. With an auxiliary apparatus it is possible to apply additional powder to the four glass edges, which is of special use for smaller bending radii. For more information please see: www.ifg-gmbh.de
