Application Possibilities Of Wolfram Heavy Alloys In The Glass Industry (In Czech)

Wofram heavy alloys are based on high tungsten content (over 90 wt%) mixed with other elements, e.g. iron, nickel, cobalt, copper. Currently, possibilities of WHA application in glass making industry are under investigation. Therefore, the corrosion resistance of wolfram heavy alloys was investigated in soda-lime glass and crystal glass without lead (LIBA). Corrosion resistance against molten glass was determined by measuring of weight changes and chemical changes of sample surface. The results show that TN (W-6Ni-3Co) has the best corrosion resistance against both molten glasses.
