The Application Of Fluorescence To Problems Of Glass Manufacture

A literature review is presented as well as a brief discussion of the mechanisms of fluorescence and the substances which can be expected to cause fluorescence in glass. Simple visual observation is shown to be helpful in determining sources of stones, surface cord, studying melting and forehearth operation and flow during fabrication.
