Annealing Glass E.G Vertically Drawn Window Glass.

The invention concerns the annealing of window glass which must have an optimum range of residual stress in order to render it suitable for cutting. The glass is cooled very rapidly from its molten state to the top of the annealing range, held there for a short time, cooled slowly but at an increasing rate through.
