It is essential to have a well-filled pipeline of future blockbusters when patents expire. Products and processes are coming under scrutiny in the search for optimisation potential. One approach is an analysis of overall equipment effectiveness. A benchmark study of 50 pharmaceutical packaging lines revealed considerable differences, as explained in this article.
