Analysis Of Gases Dissolved In Glass And Gases Present In Seeds

A method of analysis for gases dissolved in glass has been developed which gives more reproducible results that those previously reported. The principle gases found were, in flint glass, water vapour, sulphur dioxide and oxygen and in amber glass, water vapour. A method for determining amounts of gas with seed gives fairly good quantitative data on seed more than 1 cu mm gas content.
