The Analysis Of Gaseous Inclusions In Glass Using A Quadruple Mass Spectrometer

A quadruple mass spectrometer has been adapted to analyse bubbles in production and research glasses. It can handle sample sizes in the range 0.2mm in diameter (1.4nl of gas at s.t.p) to 8mm in diameter (90000 nl of gas at s.t.p.), and has detected H2, He, CH4, N2, CO, O2, A, CO2, COS, H2S and SO2 in bubbles from a variety of sources.
