Analyses Of Aluminum Traces In Sorted Amber Cullet

This paper deals with analyses of aluminium impurities in already sorted cullet. Some ways of minimising the amount of pure aluminium in this amber cullet are shown and discussed. By the mechanism presented, the aluminium is oxidized with an alkaline solution at pH7.5 up to 11.5, as found in outside stored cullet. This proves to be a useful way of minimising metallic aluminium in cullet and reduction of interfering inclusions in glasses.
