Aluminium Bottle A "European First"

Rexam has launched what it believes is Europe's first aluminium beverage bottle produced using the drawn wall ironed (DWI) technology generally more for traditionally used for bevcan manufacture. The company plans to offer the new "Fusion" bottle in a variety of serving sizes, and with a choice of shoulder shapes, neck lengths & closures, from early this year. The container has been developed with Italian manufacturer Frattini. Rexam will install a Frattini bottle necker on a new pilot line at its Tongwell, UK R&D centre, with production set to begin a month later. Full production is planned throughout Europe. "100% recyclable, shatterproof, safe & cold to touch." Rexam says it also offers superior graphic potential-utilising "the full spectrum"- of Rexam ink & varnish finishes, including debossing.
