Airborne Selenium Emissions

This article looks at the potential effects of selenium on health. It concludes, "The levels of exposure to airborne selenium associated with float glass plants are extremely small compared with those associated with adverse effects in exposed workers or in populations exposed to excessive levels of dietary selenium. No adverse effects would be expected to arise in populations exposed to ground level concentrations of selenium resulting from emissions from flat glass works". The article is based on an independent study by the Institute of Occupational Medicine. A copy of the full report can be obtained from alison.searl@iomhq.org.uk
